  • Acting as the senior escalation point for incidents and complex technical issues.
  • Ensuring systems remain stable, available and performing as expected.
  • Coordinating with third party suppliers to ensure high quality service delivery.
  • Carrying out BAU tasks including patching, monitoring, backup validation and incident resolution.
  • Identifying operational risks and proactively remediating weaknesses in the environment.
  • Providing clear reporting and visibility into service health and risks.

Key Skills:

  • A strong background in senior level infrastructure engineering with hands on Windows Server experience.
  • Proven ability to support BAU operations in complex, Legacy or under documented estates.
  • Experience working with third party or outsourced support providers.
  • Solid understanding of virtualisation, resilience, backup and monitoring tools.
  • Someone who can take ownership quickly, work independently and bring calm, structured thinking to busy operational environments.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Halifax | 2-3 days per week onsite | Up to £500 per day | Outside IR35 | Initial 3 month contract

Exalto Consulting is supporting a well established organisation in Halifax that operates within a fast moving, multi site environment. They are entering a period of change and require an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to provide stability and continuity across their core IT operations while a key internal specialist is redeployed onto a major transformation programme.

The Role
you'll act as the senior point of accountability for BAU infrastructure operations, ensuring the organisations server, storage and core platform services remain stable and well managed. Your work will directly support business continuity and give internal teams the confidence and bandwidth they need during a critical transition period.
This is a hands on role with real impact. you'll be trusted to step into an already busy environment, take ownership quickly, and maintain a high standard of operational control.
