Senior Information Technology Engineer

Summary: The Senior Information Technology Engineer will be responsible for managing the separation of IT systems at both local and franchise levels, ensuring robust planning and execution. This role requires a deep understanding of system architecture, security requirements, and business processes, while collaborating with various teams for a smooth transition. The position also involves leading archival activities for decommissioned systems and may require travel between sites in the UK. A strong background in IT service delivery and technical product management is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understands portfolio of IT systems used at local and franchise level.
  • Works within the separation framework to plan and execute the separation of these systems.
  • Collaborates with business functions to ensure robust plans for separation.
  • Develops detailed understanding of current system architecture, security requirements, access control, and data flows.
  • Engages with multiple in-house/external teams to ensure smooth transition of apps and systems.
  • Leads the end-to-end process for archival activities for systems identified for decommissioning.
  • Assists existing 2nd and 3rd line technology support teams during project periods.
  • Travels between two sites in the UK: Leeds and Blackpool.

Key Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field (Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or Information Systems).
  • 7 years of experience working with Technology or in engineering technology fields.
  • Proven knowledge of standard IT service delivery, ITIL, and Agile practices.
  • Experience in technical product management or technical product delivery.
  • Deep understanding of business processes and high-level understanding of digital product delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Agile delivery tools (JIRA, Leankit, Confluence, Asset Management).
  • Proficiency in Service Now application.
  • Preferred experience in managing software product portfolio and working with Manufacturing Labs or Quality Systems.
  • GxP SDLC proficiency and MS Azure, AWS, and Power Apps proficiency or certification preferred.
  • English language required.
  • Highly self-motivated and proactive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Will need to quickly develop detailed understanding of current system architecture security requirements access control data flows etc
  • Needs to engage with multiple inhouseexternal teams to ensure smooth transition of apps and systems local and global
  • SDLC and documentation ownership
  • For systems identified for decommissioning lead the endtoend process for any archival activities including aligning with technical quality to dispose of applications and environments
  • Must be able to travel between x2 sites in the UK Leeds and Blackpool
  • Travel will be expensed
  • There may be periods during the project where 2nd line support activities are required to assist existing 2nd and 3rd line technology support teams

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in technical field Engineering Science Mathematics or Information systems eg Computer Science Mgmt of Information Systems

Experience and Skills Required

  • 7 years of experience working with Technology or in engineering technology fields
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of standard IT service delivery ITIL and Agile practices
  • Proven experience in technical product management or technical product delivery
  • Deep understanding of business processes and highlevel understanding of highquality digital product delivery
