Summary: The Senior Industrial Designer role involves creating innovative consumer electronics products for a leading company in London. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to develop high-quality designs and prototypes. The designer will also mentor junior team members and ensure design quality through production. This contract position is outside IR35 and offers a competitive daily rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate design concepts through sketching, 3D CAD modelling, and photo-realistic visualisations.
- Create high-precision 3D surfacing for complex consumer electronic products, ensuring design intent and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with engineering and user experience teams to translate ergonomic and UX insights into refined, user-centred product designs.
- Work closely with external suppliers to maintain surfacing quality and consistency through to production.
- Mentor and support junior designers, providing guidance on design process, CAD best practices, and surfacing techniques.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 5 years' industry experience in industrial design, ideally within consumer electronics or a design consultancy.
- Degree-qualified in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related discipline.
- Expert in 3D surfacing and CAD modelling, with proficiency in SolidWorks, PTC Creo / ISDX, and Alias or Rhino.
- Excellent hand sketching and concept communication skills.
- Strong understanding of UX, ergonomics, and their integration into physical product form.
- Skilled in 2D design and visualisation tools, including the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Confident in KeyShot and/or Cinema 4D for rendering and creating compelling product visuals.
- Experience managing external vendors and prototyping suppliers.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a collaborative team player.

We're offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Industrial Designer to join a world-renowned consumer electronics company based in London.
You'll play a key role in creating innovative, beautifully engineered consumer products that embody the company's outstanding design values. Working closely with multidisciplinary Design and Technical teams, you'll take ideas from initial concept through to high-quality, production-ready designs and prototypes.
