Summary: The Senior HR Officer role is a 10-month fixed-term maternity cover position within an education provider in Oxfordshire. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across multiple schools, supervising HR assistants and managing various HR functions. The role requires on-site presence at schools, with some flexibility for home working during holidays. The position is critical for supporting school leaders in recruitment and employee relations while fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising 2 HR Assistants and providing comprehensive employee relations and sickness absence support
- Reviewing and updating policies and procedures and driving values and culture
- Supporting School Leaders with the coordination of end-to-end recruitment, selection, and interview processes
- Overseeing onboarding of new staff, ensuring necessary checks and paperwork are completed in an accurate and timely manner
- Coordinating and checking payroll with the finance team and providing guidance on pension and payroll matters
- Working with School Leadership on performance development and CPD provision
Key Skills:
- Experience in a school-based HR role
- Supervisory experience
- CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent, or solid hands-on UK-based HR work experience
- Strong understanding of employee relations and performance management
- Ability to manage payroll and ensure data accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Full clean UK driver's license
