The Role

Reporting directly into the project leadership team, the Senior Health & Safety Manager will take ownership of the health and safety strategy across a large-scale data centre construction project.

This individual will provide visible leadership on site, set the safety culture from the top, and mentor the wider H&S team throughout project delivery.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a professional who leads by example, builds strong relationships with operational teams, and drives best practice across all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all Health & Safety activities on a major data centre construction project.
  • Act as the primary Health & Safety lead for the project.
  • Conduct audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
  • Engage with project stakeholders, subcontractors and client representatives.
  • Drive behavioural safety initiatives and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Produce reports, investigations and corrective action plans where required.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, client requirements and industry best practice.

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

Rights to work in the UK

Proven experience as a Senior Health & Safety Manager on large-scale Data Centre construction projects.

Track record of delivering multiple data centre projects from construction through to completion.

Chartered Health & Safety professional status (CMIOSH or equivalent).

NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification).

Strong working knowledge of UK construction and H&S legislation.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Ability to influence operational teams through collaboration rather than authority.

Desirable:

Degree qualified in Health & Safety, Environmental Management or related discipline.

Level 6 or Level 7 qualification.
