Summary: The Senior Hardware Engineer role in Southampton involves capturing requirements, generating design specifications, and validating electronic designs against set requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements capture and generating design specifications
- Electronics schematic design, layout, and simulation
- Validation of designs against requirements
- Definition of test parameters
- Designing with video bandwidth op-amps for low noise applications
- Integration and validation at system level
- Preparation of technical documentation and reports
- Undertaking component selection and de-rating analysis
- Adherence to company governance and quality processes
Key Skills:
- Degree in Electronics Engineering (or equivalent)
- Management of electronics design projects
- Use of Schematic Capture tools (Mentor Graphics, Proteus or equivalent)
- Knowledge of device drivers and communication protocols (e.g. I2C, SPI, USB, Camera Link)
- Experience of hardware design using FPGA components
- Experience of working with Analogue to Digital converters
- Ability to communicate technical information
- Demonstrated evidence of good organisation, planning, cost control, and execution of work
