The Role
You will be responsible for planning, managing and supervising ground investigation works, including drilling and associated site investigations.
Planning and managing ground investigations across construction and brownfield sites.
Supervising drilling, boreholes, trial pitting, window sampling and in-situ testing.
Logging soil and rock in accordance with BS 5930.
Carrying out groundwater, ground gas and surface water monitoring.
Managing specialist GI subcontractors and laboratories.
Reviewing RAMS, method statements, permits and technical documentation.
Producing and reviewing factual Ground Investigation Reports (GIRs).
Ensuring works comply with H&S legislation, BS 5930, BS 10175 and relevant industry standards.
Providing technical support and site-based engineering input throughout the investigation and construction process.
About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong background in: Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Ground Investigation / Site Investigation, Borehole and drilling supervision, Brownfield or contaminated land investigations, Trial pitting and window sampling, Soil and rock logging, Groundwater and ground gas monitoring, Managing GI contractors and specialist subcontractors.
Previous experience within the water sector is advantageous but not essential.
Experience across construction, infrastructure, brownfield regeneration, highways, rail or other major infrastructure projects will also be considered.
