The Role The role is based in Norton Rose Fulbright’s Newcastle office and suits a qualified accountant who has experience with intercompany accounting across a multinational group and enjoys project based work. This position is for a 12 month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the Financial Controller, and part of a service driven team with 5 other financial accountants, the role will be responsible for the successful delivery of an intercompany reconciliation and data cleanse project across EMEA’s 18 offices. In addition there are opportunities to get involved in other projects. The intercompany and interoffice balances have been building up over a number of years, with no agreed process for paying intercompany balances. Design work has been completed to better understand the issues, and what the solution is for addressing (both historical balances and going forward). This work identified this role as critical for delivering changes required to (i) manage the tax risk of large intercompany balances and (ii) tidy up the current intercompany balances in advance of a new finance system being implemented.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with accounting teams in non-UK offices to be able to efficiently reconcile intercompany balances.
