About the Role
A 12-month fixed term contract to drive financial reporting for a UK branch of a global insurer.
Own the technical P&L delivery with primary focus on IFRS 17 and Solvency II/UK compliance.
This role requires strong technical insurance accounting expertise, particularly in IFRS 17 and regulatory reporting, combined with the ability to drive process improvements and manage critical system interfaces.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver accurate quarterly and annual financial reporting for UK branch under IFRS 17 and Solvency II/UK standards
- Develop detailed understanding of branch technical P&L result and manage preparation/review processes
- Manage the preparation and review process of branch financial results
- Support IFRS 17 analysis and deliver quarterly uploads for IFRS 17 and Solvency II compliance
- Manage key interfaces across general ledger and underwriting systems, ensuring transparent translation of operational data into financial results
- Lead interim and annual audit deliveries for UK branch
- Monitor and analyse regulatory framework changes (accounting and insurance) and communicate impact to senior management
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and data quality
- Design and deliver financial reports addressing regulatory and group requirements
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong insurance accounting background either from practice or industry
- Proven experience in insurance P&L reporting with solid technical foundation
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS 17 - ESSENTIAL
- Deep understanding of Solvency II/UK regulatory requirements
- Experience with general ledger systems and underwriting system interfaces
- Advanced Excel skills with ability to manipulate and validate complex data
- Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to work to tight deadlines
- Effective communicator able to influence across finance, operations, and senior management
