Summary: The Senior Financial Accountant role involves enhancing financial reporting and addressing legacy issues within a modular building solutions company. The position requires collaboration with various internal teams to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial processes. The candidate will also be responsible for preparing HMRC returns and statutory financial statements. This role is pivotal in supporting a complex leasing business with diverse modular assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely HMRC returns, ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations.
  • Extract and analyse large data sets to produce insightful financial reports for stakeholders.
  • Lead the month-end reporting cycle, including journal postings, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and controls.
  • Work closely with internal teams including FP&A, Tax, and Operations to ensure accurate financial information.

Key Skills:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Strong background in financial accounting, preferably within a leasing/asset-heavy business.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with large data sets and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Your new role

As the finance function continues to evolve, we are hiring a Senior Financial Accountant to strengthen financial reporting, resolve legacy issues, and support a complex leasing business with diverse modular assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HMRC Returns: Prepare and submit accurate and timely returns, ensuring full compliance with UK tax regulations.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Extract and analyse large data sets to produce insightful financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
