Summary: The Senior Financial Accountant role is a 3–6 month contract position based in Burnley, requiring an experienced finance professional to support financial control activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for key accounting processes, financial reporting, and process improvements within a globally recognized aerospace business. This position demands strong financial management and reporting skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively with the finance team. Immediate availability is preferred for this hands-on role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and general ledger close
- Production of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packs in line with Group requirements
- Supporting the Financial Controller and ensuring finance team deadlines are achieved
- Managing and supporting the Trainee Accountant
- Supporting GRIR clearing processes
- Assisting with external audits, statutory accounts, and tax analysis
- Preparing month-end presentations and ad hoc financial reporting
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified by experience
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
- Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP
- Advanced Excel skills and strong Microsoft Office capability
- Exposure to automation, digitalisation, and process improvement initiatives
- Power BI experience desirable
- Strong analytical, communication, and business partnering skills

Morson Edge are recruiting on behalf of Safran Nacelles for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their finance team in Burnley on an initial 3–6 month contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You’ll play a key role in supporting financial control activities, driving process improvements, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting within a globally recognised aerospace business.
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will support the delivery of the company’s financial objectives through strong financial management, reporting, compliance, and business partnering activities. You’ll take ownership of key accounting processes while supporting wider finance operations and helping to streamline and modernise finance workflows.
