Summary: The Senior Finance Officer role at Bradford Central involves providing professional finance and management information services to various departments within the Trust. The position requires undertaking complex accountancy tasks, supporting budget holders, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The role also includes training delivery and supervision of finance staff, all while promoting excellent customer service. This is a hybrid working position with a contract duration of 3 to 6 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with budgeting and year-end accounting procedures, financial policies, and controls.
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial and service performance information for operational decision-making.
- Provide comprehensive financial support services, including budget profiling and forecasting.
- Prepare and present financial reports as required.
- Represent the Principal Accountant and Finance Business Partner on internal working groups and project teams.
- Ensure accurate accounting of the Trust’s income and expenditure in line with legislative requirements.
- Organize and deliver training events for financial and non-financial managers.
- Undertake complex financial activities within the Finance Business Partnering Team.
- Supervise finance officers and apprentices as needed.
- Develop good working relationships with colleagues to support financial service delivery.
Key Skills:
- AAT or equivalent qualification.
- Public sector finance experience.
- Experience in preparing reports and maintaining financial systems and procedures.
