Summary: The Senior Finance Manager role is a 12-month contract based in Glasgow, requiring hybrid working arrangements. The position involves leading financial governance, managing financial risks, and collaborating with senior leaders to support business decision-making. The successful candidate will oversee financial reporting, analysis, and team management while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct finance and corporate governance processes to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Leverage business acumen to develop sustainable financial plans and evaluate strategic options.
  • Oversee financial accounting, analysis, and reporting activities while ensuring robust financial controls.
  • Produce insightful management reporting and advise senior stakeholders on finance risks and strategies.
  • Coach the finance team in core financial activities and foster a positive team environment.
  • Create policies for internal financial control and challenge stakeholders to maintain asset integrity.
  • Identify efficiencies and challenge business partners to improve decision-making processes.
  • Lead the business planning process and optimize the use of taxpayer funds through effective budgeting.
  • Consult on technology and information systems to enhance decision-making and performance.
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to support collaborative working and business performance.

Key Skills:

  • Significant post qualification experience with relevant accounting institution (i.e. ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, or equivalent).
  • Thorough knowledge of risk management and governance procedures.
  • Strong commercial experience with an understanding of investment regulations.
  • Experience balancing stakeholder expectations with business needs.
  • Expansive experience across multiple financial disciplines.
  • Ability to identify and advise on alternate sources of business finance.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and leading teams.
  • Strong people management skills during periods of change.
  • OPEX experience preferred over banking.

Salary (Rate): 550
