Summary: The Senior Finance Business Partner (SEND) role involves providing strategic financial advice and influencing decision-makers to achieve optimal financial outcomes for the Council in Leicestershire. The position requires expertise in education finances and aims to improve financial processes while supporting the Council's corporate transformation agenda. The role also includes developing management reports and ensuring effective communication of financial policies within departments. This is a hybrid position with an initial contract of three months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Influence decision-makers to ensure the best financial outcomes for the Council.
  • Knowledge of Education Finances.
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial processes, aligning with statutory requirements and customer needs.
  • Support the creation and delivery of the Council's MTFS and corporate transformation agenda.
  • Provide strategic financial advice to elected Members, Chief Officers, and senior management.
  • Translate complex financial data for non-financial specialists, linking it to operational decisions.
  • Develop management reports that connect financial performance with operational outcomes.
  • Drive efficiency and service delivery improvements, ensuring effective financial management during periods of change.
  • Support departmental managers in understanding financial responsibilities and developing their financial skills.
  • Ensure effective communication and implementation of financial policies and procedures within departments.
  • Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and submissions to stakeholders.
  • Support the year-end closure of accounts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
