Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of Finance Business Partners.
- Inspire and motivate the team while coaching on partnering skills.
- Influence Executive Leadership and Portfolio Sponsors to meet financial targets.
- Act as a strategic partner for senior leaders in creating Board papers.
- Drive accountability and insight into business performance.
- Manage financial planning and forecasting across business areas.
- Steer capital prioritisation in investment business cases.
- Provide financial leadership in major contract negotiations.
- Support major sales tenders with bid and pricing expertise.
- Identify growth opportunities and implement performance tracking tools.
- Ensure strong financial control and governance frameworks are in place.
Key Skills:
- Professional accounting qualification (CIMA / ACA / ACCA) or equivalent experience.

About the role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to join our Enterprise Services Leadership team. Reporting into the Head of Finance, this is a pivotal leadership role that will develop our team of Finance Business Partners (~5) and work closely with cross-functional groups to sustainably deliver against our strategic ambitions. What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a strategic thinker and confident influencer who can lead and inspire a team, build strong relationships across the organisation, and provide robust financial insight and challenge. You’ll be a trusted partner to Executive leaders, helping to translate business performance into financial outcomes, and shape decisions that enable performance, efficiency, and value creation. This role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Finance Business Partners.
- Inspire and motivate our team and coach around partnering skills of influence and strategic storytelling.
- Influence and partner with Executive Leadership and Portfolio Sponsors to deliver financial, sales, and efficiency targets.
- Act as a strategic partner to senior leaders on the creation of Board papers to maintain high professional standard and rigour
- Drive accountability, transparency, and insight into business performance, identifying trends and corrective actions to risks & opportunities.
- Manage financial planning and forecasting across business areas, ensuring robustness, and clarity of assumptions / performance drivers
- Enable and steer capital prioritisation in investment business cases to ensure optimal financial outcomes and accountability for benefits management.
- Provide support and financial leadership in contract negotiations for major contracts (e.g., PSGA).
- Support major sales tenders with bid and pricing expertise.
- Identify and deliver growth opportunities and cost optimisation programmes that focus on driving value improvement and implement performance tracking tools to measure success.
- Ensure strong financial control and governance frameworks are in place to enable effective data-driven decisions
What You’ll Bring
- Professional accounting qualification (CIMA / ACA / ACCA) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in business partnering with senior executives (C-level).
- Demonstrable experience in collaborative process improvement
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate strategic challenges and opportunities at senior levels.
- Confident influencer, comfortable challenging the status quo with sound logic and data.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools (e.g., D365, PowerBI, PowerPoint, Excel).

Location
We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be based and required to spend 2-3 days a week.
