Summary: The Strategic Finance Officer will enhance financial support and advice for schools and service departments in Leicestershire, playing a key role in strategic decision-making and the medium-term financial strategy. This position involves analyzing school funding policies, ensuring compliance with funding deadlines, and supporting the Leicestershire Schools Forum. The officer will also develop management reports and identify efficiency improvements in school funding delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve financial support for schools and service departments.
- Analyze national school funding policies and assess their impact on local schools.
- Maintain a timetable of key school funding deadlines and ensure compliance.
- Lead and support the Leicestershire Schools Forum on funding matters.
- Maintain the Leicestershire Scheme for Financing Schools and ensure compliance.
- Reflect school finance issues in school-related strategies and corporate projects.
- Develop management reports to enhance integration of financial information.
- Identify and implement options for improving efficiency in school funding.
