Hays is partnering with an innovative and fast-growing technology business based in Taunton to recruit a Senior Accounts Specialist on a long-term temporary basis.
Supporting the finance function during a period of long-term sickness absence, you'll join a collaborative team within a forward-thinking organisation that continues to invest in its people, systems and future growth.
Your new role
As a Senior Accounts Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day and month-end financial operations of the business.
This will be a varied position that combines transactional, reporting and analytical responsibilities, giving you exposure to senior stakeholders across the organisation.
- Supporting month-end and year-end accounting activities
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments
- Assisting with management accounts and financial reporting
- Monitoring cash flow and supporting forecasting activities
- Reviewing financial processes and identifying improvements
- Supporting audit requirements and compliance activities
- Providing financial information and support to non-finance stakeholders
- Assisting the wider finance team with ad-hoc projects as required
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you'll have previous experience within a senior accounting or finance position and be comfortable managing a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience as a Senior Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Finance Officer or similar
- Strong month-end and reconciliation experience
- AAT qualification, ACCA/CIMA studies, or be qualified by experience
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and Lookup functions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to work independently and quickly add value
- Availability to start at short notice or immediately
