Summary: The Senior Finance Analyst for Central Costs at Ocado Retail is responsible for managing and analyzing central costs, ensuring they align with budget expectations while identifying opportunities for savings. This role involves collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team and various departments to enhance financial processes and reporting. The position is a fixed-term contract for six months, based in Hatfield with hybrid working arrangements. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial qualifications and advanced Excel skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare analysis of monthly central cost spend, including variances to budget with commentary.
- Business partner with the ACE team during month-end close and support monthly controls.
- Conduct monthly cost reviews with Senior Team members for flash reporting and budget adherence.
- Collaborate with Cost Centre owners and Heads of Departments for accurate cost control and forecasting.
- Ensure correct recharges with Ocado Group while challenging variances.
- Liaise with the People team for accurate cost centre mappings and people movements.
- Support the Finance Manager in reviewing and improving existing processes.
- Assist in developing new financial models, tools, and reports for better visibility and efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.
Key Skills:
- Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion).
- Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
- Excellent communication skills and relationship-building abilities.
- Methodical, detailed, and organized with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong understanding of central/overhead cost structures and allocations.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet tight deadlines.
