Summary: The Senior ETL / Data Lake Engineer will play a crucial role in a major digital transformation project for a FinTech company, focusing on building a modern data lake and developing pipelines for data ingestion and transformation. This contract position offers a competitive daily rate and requires expertise in high-scale data environments, particularly within FinTech or SaaS contexts. The role is hybrid, requiring some on-site presence in London, and is classified as outside IR35. The contract duration is for 9 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain data pipelines and ingestion flows for a modern data lake.
- Utilize tools such as Airflow, Airbyte, and Fivetran for data engineering tasks.
- Work with AWS S3, Athena, and Delta Lake/Lakehouse architectures.
- Implement data ingestion and transformation using Python or Scala.
- Handle both batch and streaming data, with experience in Kafka, Kinesis, or Flink being a plus.
- Ensure data quality and throughput in pipeline scaling.
- Collaborate with teams to support the digital transformation initiative.
Key Skills:
- Experience in high-scale data environments.
- Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Ability to write production-grade code in Python, SQL, or similar languages.
- Prior experience in FinTech, SaaS, or consulting environments.
- Familiarity with data quality and throughput considerations in pipeline development.
