Summary: The Senior ER Advisor / Employee Relations Consultant is tasked with delivering a professional HR service focused on Employee Relations cases, ensuring compliance with policies and employment law. This role involves upskilling line managers through training sessions, providing expert HR advice, and fostering strong relationships within designated directorate teams. The position also emphasizes early resolution of employee relations issues and effective sickness management strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure standards and objectives for the Employee Relations service are met in line with policy and employment law.
  • Create and deliver briefing sessions for line managers on HR policies and processes.
  • Establish strong working relationships with managers to support employee relations and management upskilling.
  • Provide expert knowledge on HR policies and procedures to employees and staff side representatives.
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR advice and support to designated teams.
  • Encourage and support robust sickness management strategies.

Key Skills:

  • High volume case management experience.
  • Experience providing a wide range of operational employee relations services.
  • Experience designing and facilitating management training on HR policies.
  • Able to review and update HR policies in line with employment law changes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Detailed Description From Employer:

This Senior ER Advisor / Employee Relations Consultant is responsible for providing all staff involved in Employee Relations Cases supporting Managers and individuals in the Trust's policy and process to deliver a professional and legally safe HR service. The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that standards and objectives for the Employee Relations service are met and are consistent with policy, best practice and employment law.
  • Being part of the upskilling of line managers by creating and delivering briefing sessions for line managers on HR policies and processes.
  • Establish strong working relationships with managers in assigned directorate teams to support the employee relations and management upskilling requirements within the service.
  • Provide expert and up to date knowledge to all employees and staff side representatives on HR policies and procedures and employment law processes as applicable and ensure appropriate signposting and support.
  • Provide first point of contact HR advice and support to the designated directorate/team to support and encourage early resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Encourage and support robust sickness management strategies.

What you'll need to succeed

  • High volume case management experience
  • Demonstrable experience of providing a wide range of operational employee relations services to staff at all levels
  • Demonstrable experience of designing and facilitating management training/briefing sessions on HR policies and procedures and management of staff
  • Able to review and update HR policies and procedures in line with changes to employment law, values and/or case law as required
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
