Senior Engineer/ Senior Equipment Engineer

General

As a Senior Equipment Engineer, you will take on a highly visible technical role within manufacturing, supporting key operations across Device Assembly, Inspection, Labeling and Packaging.

In this position, you will lead and execute technical projects that directly impact equipment performance, manufacturing efficiency, productivity, and safety. You will be responsible for the design, installation, and lifecycle management of equipment used in operations, ensuring systems are reliable, compliant, and built to support high-quality manufacturing standards.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, and external equipment vendors to solve technical challenges, improve equipment performance, and support the successful delivery of OPEX and CAPEX projects. This is a role for an engineer who enjoys taking ownership, working hands-on with complex equipment, and contributing to meaningful improvements in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Technical Leadership & Project Execution

In this role, you will act as a key technical lead for assigned equipment or process areas within OPEX and CAPEX projects. You will be the person who connects technical requirements, stakeholder expectations, vendor capabilities, and project delivery.

Your responsibilities include:

• Acting as technical lead for assigned equipment or process area within a OPEX/CAPEX project
• Serving as the primary technical contact between internal stakeholders and equipment vendors
• Translating user and process requirements into clear technical specifications and design expectations
• Partnering with the Project Manager to align on timelines, risks, and technical deliverables

Design Engineering

As part of the engineering scope, you will coordinate detailed engineering activities and take responsibility for the creation and review of critical design documentation. Your work will help ensure that equipment solutions meet compliance requirements, user needs, and manufacturing performance expectations.

Your responsibilities include:

• Coordinating the detail engineering and being responsible for creating design documents: User Requirements Document (URS), Functional Specification Document (FDS), Hardware Design Specification (HDS) and Design Review (DS) based on compliance and user requirements
• Preparing and executing characterization challenges through experiments in which parameters are intentionally varied to determine their effect on the area effectiveness and performance
• Supporting FAT and SAT together with the engineering team
• Overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment systems to ensure proper functionality and performance

Key Responsibilities/ Day-to-day activities

On a day-to-day basis, you will work across teams to ensure equipment designs, specifications, and project activities are delivered effectively. You will be involved in technical problem-solving, project execution, documentation, investigations, and continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities include:

• Working with various stakeholders and ensuring equipment designs meet the required specifications
• Project management and execution of assigned projects including project prioritization, status management and external communication
• Troubleshooting and resolving equipment-related issues
• Development of detailed specifications, engineering documents, and protocols such as URS, FDS, HDS, DS
• Working in a collaborative manner within the Process Teams structure and contributing to Root Cause Investigations and Cross Functional Investigations
• Performing all tasks with due care and attention, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and company requirements, policies and procedures
• Supporting a safe working environment by complying with environmental health/safety practice, rules and regulations

Qualifications

The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience and knowledge or the equivalent:

• BS degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or relevant +experience
• Typically 6+ years of relevant work experience with 4+ years in operations / manufacturing environment, preferably in pharmaceutical environment or automated device assembly, labeling and packaging processes
• Hands-on experience with commissioning activities
• Strong knowledge of equipment design, installation, and maintenance processes
• Direct experience with regulated environment, for example GMP, OSHA, EPA
• Occasionally work outside office hours
• Fluency in English, both in oral and written communication
• Knowledge of personal computer software, specifically MS Office
