Summary: The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead High and Low Voltage (HV/LV) electrical services for infrastructure design and delivery in a high-hazard environment on a 12-month contract in Glasgow. This role involves overseeing design planning, documentation, integration, and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead HV/LV design and ensure integration with project stakeholders.
  • Attend design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP workshops, and technical meetings.
  • Originate and review engineering documentation and manage consultants.
  • Approve project drawings and contractor work methods.
  • Supervise construction, commissioning, and decommissioning activities to ensure compliance.
  • Develop and maintain nuclear infrastructure design substantiation documents.
  • Present to nuclear safety committees and support optioneering processes.
  • Contribute to EIMT schedules, safety reports, and training delivery.
  • Conduct peer and technical reviews, and ensure all activities align with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Key Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of British/European design standards.
  • Expertise in HV/LV systems at 50Hz/60Hz.
  • Experience across concept, detailed design, and construction phases.
  • Skilled in assessing electrical systems for hazard resilience.
  • Background in specifying and justifying electrical design changes.
  • Familiarity with industrial plant (pumps, HVAC, SCADA, etc.).
  • Multidisciplinary project experience.
  • Defence or Maritime experience.
  • BEng in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or comparable experience.
  • SC Clearance required & Sole British National.

Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Electrical Engineer, who will be required to work on a 12 month contract based in Glasgow.
