Summary: The Senior DevOps Engineer role involves joining a public sector digital transformation programme, focusing on high-impact cloud-native services in AWS. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure on AWS
- Implement IaC using Terraform and Ansible
- Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
- Deploy and manage containers using Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes
- Configure logging and monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk)
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and networking issues
- Implement AWS best practices in serverless (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS)
- Optimize system performance and automate repetitive tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional delivery teams in an Agile environment
Key Skills:
- Active SC Clearance or eligibility (5+ years UK residency)
- Strong hands-on AWS cloud experience
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible
- Containers & orchestration: Docker, ECS, Kubernetes
- CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
- Monitoring and logging using Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
- Serverless architecture knowledge: AWS Lambda, API Gateway
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, Load Balancers, VPCs, SSL/TLS)
- Agile/Scrum experience (desirable)
- Strong communication and documentation skills (desirable)
