Summary: The role of DevOps Engineer focuses on developing a reusable GKE Terraform module for a global investment banking organization. The position requires a deep understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration, with responsibilities including hardening the module and integrating it into CI/CD pipelines. The role is hybrid, requiring 1 to 2 days a week in the Canary Wharf office, and is set for a 12-month contract starting in June 2025. The position is classified as inside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with platform engineers to develop and enhance a reusable Terraform module for GKE, including IAM policies and VPC networking configurations.
- Work on solution hardening, improving security, compliance, and reliability ahead of final sign-off in the SE environment.
- Migrate existing CI/CD workflows to the new strategic Harness pipeline, ensuring smooth deployment and testing processes.
- Integrate supporting IAM and networking Terraform modules to deliver a complete, end-to-end GKE provisioning solution.
- Assist in transitioning the solution from SE (development) to INT (integration) environment after approval.
- Leverage Helm to manage Kubernetes deployments and improve templating standards.
- Contribute to automation, observability, and maintainability efforts using industry best practices and tooling.
- Collaborate closely with development, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure compliance and scalability.
- Contribute to writing and maintaining Go-based test suites.
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, especially GKE, IAM, and VPCs.
- Expert knowledge of Terraform, including usage in Terraform Enterprise environments.
- Experience integrating and managing Terraform modules across cloud services.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes (GKE preferred) and container orchestration.
- Proficient with Helm for templating and deployment management.
- Experience with Harness (preferred), Jenkins, and ArgoCD for deployment workflows and GitOps practices.
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Go is a plus, especially for understanding and contributing to test automation.

Company Introduction
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Kubernetes DevOps Engineer to join our client, a global investment banking organization, in the professional services industry.
Deep understanding of Kubernetes (GKE preferred) and container orchestration is a MUST for this role.
The team is focused on building a reusable GKE Terraform module for internal tenants.
The module aims to provide a production-ready, fully integrated GKE solution, including IAM, networking, and deployment tooling, for use across multiple environments within the organization.
The solution is currently in development (SE environment) and is approaching its final stages before sign-off. Your role will involve hardening the module, integrating it into strategic CI/CD pipelines, and preparing for rollout into the INT environment.
Required Skills/Experience
Cloud Expertise:
Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, especially GKE, IAM, and VPCs.
Infrastructure as Code:
Expert knowledge of Terraform, including usage in Terraform Enterprise environments.

Container & Kubernetes Ecosystem:
