Summary: The Senior DevOps Engineer role involves joining a WealthTech SaaS firm focused on Client Lifecycle Management solutions. The position requires building and maintaining Azure-based infrastructure using Terraform, while collaborating with a full-stack engineering team to deliver enterprise-grade SaaS products. The role emphasizes automation, CI/CD pipeline management, and ensuring compliance with security standards. This is a 6-month contract position classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, scale, and monitor complex Azure-hosted SaaS applications, ensuring high availability and resilience.
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules to automate infrastructure provisioning and environment setup.
- Manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines (GitLab or equivalent), automating builds, tests, and deployments.
- Implement and maintain Kubernetes clusters (AKS), Docker images, and related infrastructure components.
- Ensure systems meet security, performance, and compliance standards (SOC2, encryption at rest/in transit).
- Collaborate with software engineers to align infrastructure delivery with development requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues, applying fixes and process improvements.
- Contribute to internal DevOps standards and documentation.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience with Terraform - advanced Infrastructure as Code deployment on Azure.
- Strong Azure background, including virtual networks, storage and application gateways.
- CI/CD pipeline management experience (GitLab, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps).
- Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS).
- Familiarity with security best practices - encryption, access control, compliance frameworks.
- Hands-on technical foundation in either software development (.NET/C# preferred) or infrastructure engineering.
- Exposure to Azure services: Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, Redis Cache, Service Bus, Key Vault, Storage Accounts and PrivateLink integrations.
- Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus) and RESTful APIs (Postman).
- Awareness of cloud security tools such as CSPM, workload protection and WAFs.
- Knowledge of .NET Core / .NET 8 environments and modern single-page application frameworks.
