Summary: The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of DevOps pipelines and tooling within the International & CHAPS Lab, focusing on the new International Payments Platform. This role requires collaboration with feature teams to recommend appropriate pipeline and tooling choices aligned with group strategy. The position is full-time for a fixed term of one year and involves a hybrid working pattern. The successful candidate will contribute to innovative payment solutions while fostering an inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, maintain, and support DevOps pipelines and tooling.
- Recommend appropriate pipeline and tooling choices for feature/lab accountabilities.
- Collaborate with third-party suppliers for defect management.
- Manage infrastructure and optimize deployments using orchestration tools.
- Communicate effectively within teams and contribute to problem-solving in a technical environment.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle, preferably in an Agile environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Problem-solving skills in technical contexts.
- Experience with SQL, Oracle, Unix/Linux, MQ, WebSphere, UrbanCode, Jenkins.
- Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting in Java, Groovy, PowerShell, or Bash/Shell.
- Hands-on experience in designing and managing infrastructure.

About this opportunity
We're looking to recruit a Senior DevOps Engineer to work in our International & CHAPS Lab providing payment options for all of our customers. Specifically, to support our new industry-leading International Payments Platform (IPP). Our strategic roadmap includes a Payments Industry product called Global Payments Plus (GPP). The Senior DevOps Engineer will hold accountability for design, implementation, maintenance and support of DevOps pipelines, tooling/automation at a Feature/Lab team level. This will include recommending the right pipeline and tooling choices appropriate for their Feature/Lab accountabilities, in line with Group Strategy!

What you'll need
- You'll have all-around knowledge of the software development lifecycle, ideally within a modern Agile engineering function.
- You'll have good communication & teamwork skills
- You'll have good Problem-solving skills within a technical environment.
- You'll be able to work with 3rd party supplier to drive defect management
- Proven experience using these technologies SQL, Oracle, Unix/Linux, MQ, WebSphere, UrbanCode, jenkins.
- Have hands on experience in designing, implementing and managing infrastructure.
- Can independently design, implement, manage and optimise deployments, proficient in using orchestrations tools such as Jenkins, GitHub,
- Confident programming and troubleshooting issues in at least one of the following languages: Java, Groovy, PowerShell or Bash/Shell.
