Summary: The Senior Development Manager will lead the software engineering function with a focus on Hubwise platform integrations and legacy AS400 systems. This role involves overseeing a team of developers, managing complex software projects, and ensuring high-quality software delivery aligned with strategic business goals. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and the implementation of best practices in software development. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software development and leadership within the financial services sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of developers (onshore and offshore).
- Own the end-to-end delivery of complex software development projects involving Hubwise or AS400.
- Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, and stakeholders to define technical solutions.
- Drive modernisation initiatives including legacy system transformation and Hubwise platform integration.
- Ensure development best practices, agile methodologies, and secure coding standards are upheld.
- Monitor project delivery timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and senior management, translating business requirements into technical deliverables.
- Manage vendor and third-party platform relationships (e.g., Hubwise).
- Oversee system performance and reliability, implementing improvements and proactive maintenance.
- Develop and implement a roadmap for system upgrades and technology stack evolution.
Key Skills:
- Extensive software development experience, with experience in a leadership or management role.
- Proven experience working with Hubwise platform (wealth platform, custody systems, or trading APIs) or AS400 systems (RPG, COBOL, DB2).
- Strong understanding of financial services, investment platforms, or banking systems.
- Experience managing teams across multiple locations and time zones.
- Strong grasp of SDLC, Agile/Scrum practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deep technical knowledge in legacy systems modernisation, system integration, and API architecture.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders.
