Summary: The Senior DataOps Engineer role requires an individual with active SC Clearance and UK residency to work on a cutting-edge machine learning project for a large government department. The position is primarily remote/hybrid with occasional travel to various offices and customer sites. The contract is initially for six months and focuses on data governance, pipeline construction, and cloud architecture. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage data pipelines and runners.
- Implement strict quality control and data schema checks.
- Ensure data governance and labelling practices are followed.
- Design and produce detailed cloud architectures.
- Utilize containerization technologies, particularly Kubernetes.
- Support DataOps/Data Engineering for advanced Machine Learning and Data Science teams.
- Communicate effectively and collaborate within a team environment.
Key Skills:
- Active SC Clearance.
- Experience in data governance, labelling, and ontologies.
- Proficiency in building data pipelines.
- Knowledge of DevOps and cloud infrastructure.

Rate: £625pd, outside IR35.
Contract Length: 6 months initially.

Essential Skills and Experience; Good experience and understanding of data governance, labelling, ontologies. Building data pipelines and runners. Able to construct strict quality control and data schema checks. Good knowledge of DevOps and cloud infrastructure, and able to produce quality, detailed cloud architectures. Hands on with containerisation technologies, good Kubernetes experience is strongly desirable. Ideally worked providing DataOps / Data Engineering to enable advanced Machine Learning and Data Science Teams. Good communicator. Team player with leadership skills.
