Summary: The Senior Data Scientist role in London involves developing a document extraction and cleaning tool while spearheading advanced analytics initiatives using AI and machine learning techniques. The position requires proactive identification of opportunities for analytics to enhance operations and profitability. The candidate will execute analytics initiatives, develop machine learning models, and promote advanced analytics across the organization. This is a hybrid role for a duration of 6 months, offering a competitive daily rate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively navigating and pinpointing areas within the organisation where advanced Analytics can provide insights or streamline operations.
• Executing all aspects of analytics initiatives including exploratory data analysis, machine learning model development, model evaluation and benefit estimation.
• Developing and delivering advanced machine learning, analytical and optimization techniques to solve business problems.
• Using and developing algorithms to deliver new optimizations and tests.
• Championing and promoting the use of advanced Analytics and reporting capabilities across the business.
• Applying data science and machine learning methods for forecasting and streamlining processes.
• Analysing data, drawing meaningful conclusions, and developing solutions to help drive profitability and/or growth.

Key Skills:

• Significant Data Scientist experience with comprehensive knowledge of AI, machine learning techniques and statistical modelling.
• Ability to navigate and pinpoint areas within the organization where Analytics can provide insights or streamline operations.
• Programming experience with at least one of the standard data science tools, Python (Pandas, Scikit-Learn etc), R, Scala/Spark (essential).
• Snowflake (desirable) or demonstrable knowledge in other Cloud based database technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data-related services.
• Advanced Transact SQL (essential).
• ETL/ELT tools (essential) eg. Azure, Talend, Matillion.
• Experience gained within the financial services and/or insurance industry.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for driving innovation through data.
