Summary: The Senior Data Privacy Analyst will provide specialized expertise in data privacy for a transformation project within the financial services sector, focusing on compliance with data protection laws for products like credit and insurance. The role involves advising stakeholders, implementing best practices, and ensuring data protection is integrated into new initiatives. The position is embedded within the John Lewis Money team and requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence decisions regarding personal data protection. This is a hybrid role, primarily based in London, with a fixed-term contract lasting up to 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the transformation programme and deliver tasks on time as per the master schedule.
  • Provide expert advice on embedding privacy by design within new initiatives and services.
  • Generate risk assessments and communicate findings to assist senior decision makers.
  • Act as the point of contact for transformation project stakeholders regarding data privacy.
  • Support the development and implementation of data privacy policies, notices, procedures, and controls.
  • Collaborate with other financial services control functions to ensure consistency of advice and prioritization of risks.
  • Maintain knowledge of personal data protection legislation and practices in the financial services sector.
  • Research and identify relevant data privacy and information security practices and assist with corrective recommendations.

Key Skills:

  • Strong background in financial services products in the insurance and/or credit sectors.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and compliance with relevant UK regulations.
  • Experience with data protection regulations, operations, and risk management.
  • Understanding of the UK Data Protection Act, UK GDPR, and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Previous experience in investigatory work and presenting findings to various audiences.
  • Practitioners Certificate in Data Protection, CIPP/E, or relevant qualification (desirable).
  • Understanding of network security as it applies to personal data (desirable).
  • Experience in a large retail or financial services organization (desirable).
  • Experience working on a large transformation program (desirable).
