Hybrid (3 days in office preferred)
6 month contract working with a Global Mining Business

Day rate agreed based on experience
Key responsibilities for this Senior Data Engineer role:
You'll work as an individual contributor, owning complex data engineering challenges, partnering with architects and stakeholders, and delivering scalable Azure data solutions.
The platform is centred around Azure, Databricks and SQL, with a strong preference for performant, modular Spark SQL solutions
You'll also contribute to data modelling, platform optimisation, automation, CI/CD and engineering best practice.
Requirements for this Senior Data Engineer role:
Extensive enterprise Azure data engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL, Storage and Synapse.
Expert-level SQL and Spark SQL.
Strong Databricks and Lakehouse/ELT experience.
Python experience and sound judgement around SQL vs Python.
Data modelling experience: Kimball, Star Schema or Data Vault.
Knowledge of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code and modern engineering practices.
Experience building scalable, resilient cloud data platforms.
Strong stakeholder communication skills across technical and business teams.
Experience in mining, natural resources, manufacturing or utilities is advantageous.
