Key Responsibilities:
- Drive efficiencies through the use of modern technology, leveraging the Azure Data technology stack and AI.
- Enable superior business performance through effective data utilization.
- Derive business value from data while exceeding stakeholder expectations.
- Improve and streamline data systems for robust business reporting solutions.
- Consolidate legacy system data sources into the Microsoft Azure tenant.
- Maintain and develop existing databases and preserve external products and BAU pipelines.
Key Skills:
- Experience in an agile environment with Atlassian tools.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills for technical solutions.
- Expertise in Azure technologies including Data Factory, Kubernetes, SQL Server MI, Azure SQL & Synapse.
- Proficient in ETL/ELT using SQL tools and programming languages (R/Python).
- Extensive SQL experience including query optimization, stored procedures, and database maintenance.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will act as the lead in data engineering projects and support the developing analytical arm for Data Management and reporting. Responsible for a multitude of tasks, including running bespoke projects for individual business units – ensuring data availability, accuracy, automation, and visibility. Supporting the growth of a new data culture from the ground-up by facilitating increased data literacy and new tool adoption. Consolidating and maintaining existing data sources and solutions, while driving the adoption of cloud services.

- Maintenance and development of existing databases and preservation of external products and BAU pipelines
You will need
- Experience working in an agile environment with Atlassian tools
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with an ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical audiences
- Expertise in working with Azure including, Data factory, Kubernetes, SQL Server MI, Azure SQL & Synapse
- Expert at ETL/ ELT using SQL tools as well as external programming languages (R/ Python)
- Extensive experience with SQL including query optimisation, stored procedures, database creation & maintenance, index optimisation & efficient table structuring
