Summary: The role of Contract Senior Data Engineer involves leading the design and implementation of scalable data solutions within a dynamic technology team. The position focuses on building and maintaining cloud-based data platforms while optimizing data processing pipelines. The engineer will also evaluate tools for analytics and contribute to migration and integration activities. This is a 6-month rolling contract with a competitive daily rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable data flows
- Build, maintain, and operate cloud-based data platforms
- Troubleshoot, optimise, and improve data processing pipelines
- Evaluate and develop tools for analytics and reporting environments
- Contribute to migration, integration, and risk management activities
Key Skills:
- Strong experience with ETL tools (SSIS, AWS, or Azure Data Factory)
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS) and BI tools (Power BI, Pentaho BA)
- Solid background in agile delivery and effort estimation
- Familiarity with Python and data libraries
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Hadoop, Jenkins (nice to have)
- Cloud certifications (Azure or AWS) (nice to have)
- Basic knowledge of Java (nice to have)
