Senior Data Engineer (AWS Engineering) sought by leading financial services organisation based in the city of London.

A leading financial services firm is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (AWS Engineering) to support an AWS cloud programme.

You'll design and build scalable data pipelines, cloud-native integration services, and event-driven solutions across front and back-office systems.

This role combines Data Engineering, AWS Platform Engineering, and Production Support, with a strong focus on delivery, automation, and knowledge transfer.

Key Skills

• AWS: Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, S3, Athena, RDS, CloudWatch.
• Python.
• Terraform.
• CI/CD (Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, GitLab).
• SQL & Data Modelling.
• Event-driven architectures (Kinesis, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ).
• EKS/EC2.
• Monitoring, support, and platform optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AWS data pipelines and integration platforms.
• Deliver scalable batch and near Real Time data solutions.
• Support production systems and platform reliability.
• Drive Infrastructure-as-Code and automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams.
• Mentor internal engineers and establish sustainable operating models.
