Summary: We are looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our team in Longford, Ireland, on a 24-month hybrid contract. This role involves leading cybersecurity initiatives, implementing security solutions, and ensuring compliance with various standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cybersecurity operations and risk management. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cyber security maturity assessments and third-party/vendor risk assessments, recommending risk remediation strategies.
  • Perform Cloud Vendor Assessments and ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, NIS2, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Design and implement information security policies and strategic plans.
  • Lead staff security awareness programs and enterprise-wide training initiatives.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate emerging security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Lead security incident response, computer forensics, threat and vulnerability management, and SOC operations.
  • Develop and maintain internet access and email monitoring systems.
  • Collaborate with Windows and Network Operations teams on security policy and architecture.
  • Drive the implementation and reporting of ICT security solutions and remediation actions.
  • Oversee enterprise mobility, security monitoring, and alerting solutions.

Key Skills:

  • Strong experience with firewalls (Juniper SRX5400, Cisco ASA/Firepower), IDS/IPS systems, and secure network design.
  • Expertise in Windows Server environments (2012-2019), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
  • Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning and penetration testing using Qualys.
  • Proficiency with endpoint security tools (e.g., McAfee/Trellix, Sophos, Trend Micro, Bullwall Ransomcare).
  • Familiarity with Cisco security solutions (IronPort, Firepower, Umbrella, AMP), and security management tools (e.g., Juniper JSA, Cisco Secure Endpoint).
  • Experience with systems hardening across platforms (Windows, Linux, Oracle, SQL), cloud security, disaster recovery, and forensic investigations.
  • Working knowledge of compliance standards (PCI-DSS, ISO 27001) and cyber security frameworks.
  • Exposure to enterprise tools like Varonis, Citrix, Sharefile, Office 365, and ePolicy Orchestrator.
