Summary: The Senior Credit Risk Analyst role is focused on delivering critical product reporting requirements for Start Up Loans, alongside developing and automating management information (MI) and reporting. The position requires collaboration with various teams to analyze credit risk and fraud models, ensuring compliance with governance standards. The role is based in Sheffield with a hybrid working arrangement, requiring attendance in the office two days a week. This is a full-time position on a 7-month fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Start Up Loans critical product reporting requirements.
- Develop and automate MI and reporting.
- Perform analytics across the Credit life cycle.
- Create and deliver monitoring for credit risk and fraud models.
- Devise model strategies for credit assessment.
- Input to IFRS9 accounting standards.
- Collect, validate, cleanse, and transform data.
- Gather requirements and translate them into data-driven reporting.
- Produce data visualisations via Power BI.

Key Skills:
- Experience with querying complex data sets using SQL.

The Role Requirements
This role will primarily focus on the delivery of the Start Up Loans critical product reporting requirements, as well as the development and automation of MI and reporting. Working closely with the SUL Collections, Credit, Fraud and Change teams, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for:
- Building a detailed understanding of the business through performing analytics across the Credit life cycle.
- Supporting the creation and delivery of monitoring for credit risk and fraud models.
- Devising model strategies for credit assessment utilising statistical model outputs balancing risk and business targets.
- Input to IFRS9 accounting standards, including investigating issues and maintaining data.
- The collection, validation, cleansing and transformation of data.
- Gathering requirements, identifying/analysing data sets and then translating them into bespoke and compelling data-driven reporting, reporting requests can come from a range of stakeholders and you will have accountability for the accuracy of any MI delivered.
- Ownership and responsibility for producing data visualisations via Power BI, visualisations will often contain key department wide measures, metrics, KPIs which will be used for decision making by numerous stakeholders.
- The Analyst will also ensure compliance with the delivery governance across the wider bank.
Experience
To be considered for this role you must have experience with querying complex data sets using SQL Along with experience of designing and developing complex data visualisation / reporting with PowerBI. You will be able to demonstrate a sound technical understanding of database design, including conceptual, logical and physical data models and constructing queries and data sets under a controlled development methodology. You must have advanced Excel skills and be able to deliver to a strict production schedule whilst monitoring and measuring data quality. You will have experience handling and validating financial data with precision and have a good understanding of data visualisation best practice with evidence of implementation. You will have a clear, logical and analytical approach to problem solving with excellent attention to detail / accuracy focussed You will also have proven experience of extracting, manipulating and interpreting complex data Experience using Python Proficient/SAS/VBA would be an advantage along with prior experience in Credit Analytics / Portfolio Analytics (Cards or Loans preferred).
