Senior Content Operations & Workflow consultant

Posted 1 week ago by Sphere Digital Recruitment

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Content Operations / Workflow Consultant to support the development of a global content supply chain for a leading international brand.

The organisation is reviewing how content is currently created, managed, approved and distributed across markets and channels. The next stage is to overlay existing stakeholder requirements and ways of working with industry best practice, developing recommendations for a future-state content operating model and workflow.

This is a broad, hands-on role sitting across content operations, process design, project delivery and digital content production. You'll help define how content should flow through the organisation, how teams should work together and how technology can support a more efficient and scalable content supply chain.

The initial requirement is for 3 months, with the potential for the work to develop into an ongoing BAU requirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design of a global end-to-end content supply chain, from briefing and intake through production, review, approval and distribution.
  • Work with stakeholders across marketing, creative, digital, technology, operations and agency teams to understand current processes and requirements.
  • Map existing processes, identify friction points and opportunities for improvement.
  • Overlay current-state findings with content operations best practice and develop recommendations for future ways of working.
  • Consider different content lifecycles, including campaign content, website landing pages, email marketing, social content, always-on and recurring content.
  • Define how content should be adapted and managed across different channels, formats, markets and audiences.
  • Help define future workflow and technology requirements, with Adobe Workfront expected to be a core workflow capability.
  • Define system handoffs, workflow triggers, metadata requirements, approval routes and asset-routing logic.
  • Work alongside technology and platform teams to ensure proposed workflows are practical and technically viable.
  • Develop recommendations around the wider marketing technology ecosystem, including AEM, DAM, Sprinklr, Frame.io and related platforms.
  • Define governance frameworks covering roles, responsibilities, permissions, approval controls, escalation routes and SLAs.
  • Translate complex processes into clear workflow maps, operating procedures, templates and playbooks.
  • Pilot new workflows using live campaign and content activity, capturing issues and refining processes based on real-world feedback.
  • Support onboarding and adoption of new workflows across internal teams and agency partners.
  • Present recommendations and demonstrate proposed workflows, including Workfront.

About You

  • You'll ideally have:
  • Strong experience designing end-to-end content operating models and workflows.
  • Experience across the full content lifecycle, from briefing and intake through production, approval and distribution.
  • Strong understanding of content adaptation and variant management across channels, markets and audiences.
  • Practical experience with Adobe Workfront or a comparable workflow-management platform.
  • Understanding of AEM, DAM, Sprinklr, Frame.io and wider marketing technology ecosystems.
  • Experience defining workflow logic, system handoffs, triggers, metadata and approval routes.
  • Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • The ability to work confidently across marketing, creative, technology, operations and agency teams.
  • Excellent documentation, communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience piloting workflows with live content/campaign activity and iterating based on feedback.
  • A consultancy, transformation or advisory background would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience with organic/social content operations would be particularly valuable alongside broader web and digital content experience.
