Summary: My client, a global bank based in London, is seeking a Senior Compliance Manager with extensive experience in compliance advisory roles, particularly in managing regulatory change and engaging with regulators. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive and collaborative approach, with a strong understanding of dynamic business banking and regulatory environments. This role is integral to a cohesive team focused on regulatory compliance across various subject matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance on regulations including PSRs, BCOBS, SMCR, MIFID, CRDVI, and COBS.
- Support and challenge business units across the 3LoD model.
- Embed and steward regulatory risk frameworks (2LoD).
- Simplify complex regulatory developments for senior stakeholders.
- Draft analysis, present to governance forums, and develop training.
- Review and improve policies and procedures for robust control environments.
- Manage regulatory reporting and submission schedules.
- Lead regulatory change and work closely with RegTech teams.
- Represent Compliance in bank-wide projects and with regulators.
Key Skills:
- Senior-level compliance advisory experience, including regulatory change and regulator engagement.
- Deep knowledge of commercial banking regulations (Payment Services Regulations (PSRs), BCOBS, SMCR, CRDVI, MIFID, COBS).
- Proven Compliance SME in banking/financial services, with commercial banking expertise.
- Skilled in advising senior management and working with internal/external audit.
- Hands-on experience supporting regulatory and business change projects.
- Strong relationship builder across all levels, including regulators.
- Trusted to handle sensitive matters with discretion and strategic insight.
- Comfortable driving robust risk frameworks across the three lines of defence.
