Summary: The Senior Communications Manager will oversee the creation and delivery of impactful communications across various channels for a 12-month fixed-term contract. Key Responsibilities:
- Create, coordinate, and manage projects across Corporate Affairs, including internal and external communications.
- Lead and manage the employer brand strategy and implementation.
- Develop and manage an internal communications channel strategy, including new intranet and social channels.
- Write and produce consistent, creative content for internal communications channels.
- Lead on event production and organization with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage external agencies and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Oversee the onboarding program to reflect company culture and values.
- Manage the recognition program to align with People Promises.
- Responsible for company-wide events and internal communications channels.

We work in a hybrid way, with a requirement to travel into our Walsall office at least twice a week to work with the team. Please note that travel to our Nottingham and Preston office's will also be required occasionally. Corporate Affairs has a diverse portfolio for delivery and this role is a vital support in the fulfilment of all projects across the department. The role will deputise for communications matters in the absence of the Corporate Affairs Director and will be responsible for managing all communications needs in that instance. Day to day, the role is expected to manage, create and deliver internal and external communications campaigns, organise, manage and deliver employee-led events and training, and support all areas of the business to effectively communicate and fulfil culture led activities. Duties will be as diverse as writing content, producing broadcast-quality rich media, managing magazine production, planning, logistics and budget management for events and activities including engaging and managing external agencies and suppliers.
Principal Accountabilities
- Create, Coordinate and manage projects across Corporate Affairs including internal and external comms, and the effective communication of CSR and engagement activity
- Lead and manage the employer brand strategy and implementation
- Lead and manage an IC channel strategy, including provision of new intranet and social channels, using a wide range of IC skills and knowledge to plan, deliver and measure successful IC campaigns and interventions, including complex and sensitive programmes, change projects and crisis communications
- Take ownership for creating internal comms campaigns in partnership with all depts across the business, understanding their business needs and timescales, and review against all other internal communications to prioritise
- Write and produce consistent, creative and relevant content for IC channels through development and maintenance of relationships with key teams across HomeServe
- Develop and grow production skills and engage and support opportunities for people across HomeServe to develop in that area and realise potential efficiencies
- Lead on event production and organisation with both internal and external stakeholders
- Responsible for engaging and managing external agencies and suppliers
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders
- Co-ordinate and manage production of all comms assets and presentations
- Be lead communications partner for Service Operations
- Responsible for the onboarding programme to ensure it reflects our company culture and value, ensuring new employees are aware of our culture and vision while making sure they feel welcome and valued from day one.
- Manage the recognition programme to ensure that it aligns to our People Promises, collaborating with all teams to promote recognition and to educate teams of opportunities to recognise their colleagues and peers.
- Responsible for company wide events at HomeServe.
- Responsible for our Internal comms channels, including a new intranet site, creating a group of comms champions and working with them to create communications for their area of the business
