Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and carrying out commissioning of primary and secondary plant at 400kV
- Functional testing of protection and control schemes
- Reviewing, completing and signing off commissioning documentation
- Ensuring compliance with National Grid standards and site safety rules
- Coordinating with SAPs, Project Engineers and client representatives
- Supporting energisation and fault-finding activities
- Working safely within a live transmission environment
Key Skills:
- Extensive experience commissioning at 400kV level
- Strong background within UK transmission projects
- Solid understanding of UK T&D commissioning procedures
- SSEN CAT3 authorisation (absolutely essential)
- Proven experience working in live substations

The Role: We are currently recruiting an experienced 400kV Commissioning Engineer to support works on a major transmission project at Beauly Substation. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile 400kV site within a live substation environment, contributing to critical UK grid infrastructure through to mid-2026.
