Summary: The Senior Commercial Officer role focuses on leading the drafting, negotiation, and administration of complex contracts within the aerospace and defence sectors. This position requires collaboration with procurement, customers, and suppliers to manage commercial risks and ensure compliance with internal procedures. The role is hybrid remote, with occasional travel to the Luton HQ, and requires security clearance. The contract duration is six months, with a pay rate of up to £66 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and administer contracts, including NDAs, Software Licensing Agreements, and MOUs.
  • Provide commercial support to projects, including change control, performance monitoring, and risk management.
  • Prepare and manage customer pricing using appropriate pricing strategies and models.
  • Represent the commercial function in customer and supplier meetings, building strong relationships.
  • Support proposals and internal bid approval processes to secure new business.
  • Ensure adherence to commercial processes, internal approvals, and delegated authorities.
  • Collaborate as a key member of the Integrated Project Team to support project delivery and new business growth.

Key Skills:

  • Sole British national with live security clearance (SC).
  • Proven record of winning business and/or contract management in the Aerospace and Defence Sector.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced environment on complex and medium value contracts.
  • Strong understanding of contract negotiation, administration, and compliance.
  • Experience preparing proposals, pricing models, and managing commercial risk.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and contribute to team objectives.

A leading Defence prime are seeking a Senior Commercial Officer to join the team based in Luton on a hybrid remote working basis. In this role, you will lead the drafting, negotiation, and administration of complex contracts, providing commercial expertise across projects and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and delegated authorities. You will work closely with procurement, customers, and suppliers to manage commercial risk, drive performance, and support the delivery of successful aerospace and defence programmes.
