Summary: The role of Senior Cloud Architect focuses on designing and implementing Azure-based cloud solutions within the insurance and reinsurance sectors. The position requires extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, alongside a hands-on approach to managing cloud infrastructure. The contract is for an initial period of six months with a hybrid working arrangement, requiring presence in the Ipswich office 1-2 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, implement, and manage robust, secure, and scalable cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Lead and oversee technical projects such as Cloud Adoption, Landing Zone design and deployment, Cloud Migration, Cloud Readiness, and Cloud Maturity assessments.
• Ensure MSPs/CSPs deliver high-quality solutions that meet our standards.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure in line with industry best practices.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and ensure they align with business goals.
• Manage the migration of on-premises applications and infrastructure to the cloud environment.
• Implement and enforce cloud security measures, including identity and access management, data protection, and compliance with regulations such as GDPR and SOC 2.

Key Skills:

• Extensive experience in cloud architecture, focusing on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
• Experience within the insurance or reinsurance industry.
• Demonstrated experience in leading technical projects (Cloud Adoption, Landing Zone design and deployment, Cloud Migration, Cloud Readiness, Cloud Maturity).
• Experience in regulated environments is essential.
• Proven expertise in Azure IaaS (virtual machines, storage, networking, security).
• Experience with Azure Backup & Recovery Services.
• Knowledge of Azure Governance (Blueprints, policies, tagging, cost management).
• Proficiency with Azure SQL Databases (Managed Instances, PaaS, IaaS).
• Experience with Azure Security (Zero Trust, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Azure AD, AIP).
