The Opportunity
Morson Edge is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior CAD Technician to join a major engineering and infrastructure project on a contract basis through to the end of December 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly capable CAD professional with a strong background in water and wastewater infrastructure, who is confident working across 2D and 3D design environments and supporting multidisciplinary project teams.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing, developing and managing high-quality technical drawings and design information, working closely with engineers, designers, surveyors and other project stakeholders.
Experience working within construction cloud environments, multidisciplinary design teams and projects delivered under NEC contracts is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing and managing high-quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD.
- Developing drawings and models using Civil 3D and Revit.
- Interpreting engineering designs, specifications and survey information.
- Producing technical drawings and documentation in accordance with project requirements.
- Working with topographical survey and GIS data to develop accurate design information.
- Supporting multidisciplinary design coordination and clash detection.
- Managing and maintaining drawing information within construction cloud environments.
- Working closely with engineers, designers and wider project teams to resolve technical and design issues.
- Ensuring drawings are produced to the required standards, specifications and programme.
- Working on water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including sewer networks, pumping stations and treatment works.
- Supporting projects delivered under NEC contract arrangements.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date drawing registers and project documentation.
Typical Drawing Deliverables
- The successful candidate will have proven experience producing a range of civil engineering drawings, including:
- Site layout drawings
- Drainage drawings
- General arrangement drawings
- Long sections
- Cross sections
- Construction details
- 2D and 3D design drawings
About You
We are looking for an experienced CAD professional who can demonstrate a strong track record within civil engineering, ideally with significant experience across the water and wastewater sector.
You should have:
Extensive experience producing and managing 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD.
Proven experience using Civil 3D and Revit.
Experience interpreting engineering designs, specifications and survey information.
Experience working within construction cloud environments.
Strong experience working on water and wastewater projects, including:
Sewer networks
Pumping stations
Treatment works
Experience working with topographical survey and GIS data.
Experience in multidisciplinary design coordination and clash detection.
Experience working on projects delivered under NEC contracts.
A strong understanding of civil engineering design principles and drawing standards.
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deliverables to programme.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) certification in one or more of the following would be required:
- AutoCAD
- Civil 3D
- Revit
Whats on Offer?
£40 per hour
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Working hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm
Contract position through to 31 December 2026
