Summary: The Senior Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer role in Manchester involves delivering engineering solutions for a leading energy infrastructure project. The position requires collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team across various project phases, focusing on innovative developments in the Energy, Nuclear, Defence, and Transport sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including Oil & Gas and Hydrogen production. The contract is for 12 months and is classified as outside IR35.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical input on C&I engineering across major projects
- Prepare, review, and approve equipment specs, installation scopes, and material requisitions
- Design instrumentation systems including SMART devices, PLCs, and analyser systems
- Ensure compliance with UK and international standards (e.g. CE, ATEX, PED, EMC)
Key Skills:
- Degree in Electronic, Electrical, or Control Engineering (or equivalent apprenticeship)
- Chartered or working towards Chartered/Incorporated Engineer status
- 5+ years' experience in Oil & Gas, Nuclear, or Water sectors
- Experience with instrumentation in hazardous/explosive environments
- Solid understanding of HSE and risk management practices

We're currently looking for a Senior Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Engineer to join a leading energy infrastructure project in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking organisation delivering cutting-edge solutions across the Energy, Nuclear, Defence, and Transport sectors. As part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, you'll be delivering C&I engineering across all project phases - from concept and FEED to EPCm. The role offers exposure to a broad portfolio, from brownfield Oil & Gas projects to emerging Hydrogen production and storage developments.
