Key Skills:
- Minimum 8 years’ software engineering experience
- Proven experience on UK defence sector projects
- Strong proficiency in C++ (with working knowledge of Java)
- Experience designing and developing large distributed systems
- Background in safety-critical or safety-related systems (e.g. IEC 61508, 62304, ISO 26262)
- Familiarity with IBM DOORS, Klocwork, and static analysis/unit testing frameworks
- Strong understanding of software lifecycles, FMEA, and assurance processes
- Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
- Active SC clearance with no caveats and UKEO eligibility
- UK citizenship required
- Experience with UML and software modelling techniques (desirable)
- Exposure to virtualisation and containerisation technologies (desirable)
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory (desirable)
- Understanding of IP networking protocols (desirable)
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (desirable)

C++ Senior/ Arch Software Engineer – Defence Sector (Manchester)
We are seeking a highly skilled C++ Software Engineer to deliver a clearly defined work package on a major UK defence and aerospace programme. This role involves working on complex, safety-critical systems as part of a high-performing engineering team.
Location : Manchester – 5 days/week onsite (Future flexibility may be considered)
Contract : 12+ months , output-based model, outside IR35
Security : Active SC clearance with no caveats and UK Eyes Only (UKEO) status are mandatory
Day Rate : £500.00
