Senior Buyer

Summary: The Senior Buyer role involves leading medium to high complexity projects, including tenders and contract management, while developing and executing category and sourcing strategies. The position requires ownership of category sub-strategies and strategic relationships within the business. The role also emphasizes coaching and mentoring junior team members to enhance their development and performance. This position is based in Warwick with a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, develop and implement effective sourcing strategies ensuring goods/services are procured in a best-in-class manner that drives value for money.
• Lead and develop medium to high complex regulated compliant Supply Chain events.
• Develop an expert knowledge of your supplier marketplace within assigned categories to ensure credibility with internal stakeholders.
• Analyse supply base and vendor spend to make informed sourcing decisions.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with various internal stakeholders and educate them on process and best practice.
• Create or develop complex financial and analytical models for strategic recommendations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand purchasing needs and specifications.
• Lead and support junior members, providing ongoing coaching, mentoring, direction, and support.
• Lead in the upskilling and training of new starters and existing team members.
• Lead contract management activities identifying continuous improvement opportunities through engagement with suppliers and stakeholders.

Key Skills:

• Experience as a strategic sourcing or Supply Chain professional with a track record of continuous improvement.
• Good understanding of key practices in Supply Chain/strategic sourcing.
• Demonstrates knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements related to categories of spend.
• Relevant category expertise and/or transferable skills across category areas.
• Experience in conducting Supply Chain activities, including requirement definition and competitive bidding.
