The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who is available for an initial 6 month fixed term role who will oversee the entire order process. You will review proposals, negotiate prices, select the best suppliers, analyse trends, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
Major infrastructure projects procurement remit Work with business development teams to develop contract strategy and apply defined contract strategy agreed for the Project Liaise with country and regional category managers to be in line with pre-established country strategies and local market updates. Translate project objectives into procurement strategies that meet technical, financial, and timeline goals. Define project procurement plans and ensure the alignment of sourcing with overall project goals, including CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and sustainability targets (e.g., Carbon Neutral / Zero). Apply category strategies in collaboration with the procurement and business teams. Lead the procurement process for critical and strategic project components. Steer procurement strategy decisions and prepare supporting arguments for any strategy deviations with escalation and approval request of steering committee. Coordinate and assure the involvement of the rest of procurement stakeholders in the process (Global Lead Buyers, Category Lead Buyers…) Provide reliable information and key reporting metrics to CPO to define negotiation directions. Implement project procurement activities in compliance with internal and external regulations Provide project reporting to project budget owners and project development team in line with progress scored on procurement strategy execution with risk escalations when possible Operational Procurement, Risk & Supplier Management Handle procurement requests for internal clients, ensuring that needs are met (cost, quality, timeline, payment terms). Deviate from default ‘Direct Awards’ generating informed route to market options meeting stakeholder needs Identify, analyse, evaluate, execute and document any exception (emergencies and urgencies) to the process Work with Stakeholder to move away from bespoke spec , working towards standardisation. Run sourcing events end-to-end, identify the total target cost and establish tender assessment criteria, finalize the choice of supplier with the internal client and prepare the contract Develop , maintain and report procurement pipeline. Consolidate procurement needs, consult the market, lead negotiations with consultants, contractors or local equipment suppliers to finalize contracts or purchase orders. In collaboration with the Category Manager, study the market to identify which potential consultants, contractor and local suppliers could be consulted, collaborate to maintain the contractor´s panel at country level updated and the major and preferred panel Supervise contract deployment across relevant entities, track supplier performance, and resolve disputes. Manage relationships with key consultants, contractors or local equipment suppliers and engage in strategic supplier partnerships to secure project needs. Ensure the group’s rules, HSE, and sustainability policies and ethical standards are applied Identify risks and opportunities within the procurement process and develop mitigation strategies . Challenge and clarify procurement requests to ensure value creation and performance improvements. Team Collaboration and Communication Collaborate with internal stakeholders (project teams, finance, legal) and ensure early involvement in the procurement process. Work cohesively with team , making effort to have joint office days, collaborating on knowledge share. Coordinate with a network of buyers, PO agents, and internal requestors to ensure smooth project execution. Communicate project procurement activities, strategy, and progress to internal stakeholders and provide accurate reporting ( regular and any adhoc) Business Intelligence, Procurement excellence and Sustainability Conduct market intelligence to identify innovation, suppliers, and market trends. Leverage knowledge of categories, markets, and business needs to make strategic procurement recommendations. Integrate sustainability initiatives into procurement decisions (CO2 reduction, inclusive sourcing, regulatory compliance) Develop and maintain dashboards and visual management tools using Power BI and other analytics platforms. Coordinate and support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across departments. Focus on procurement excellence, building a future landscape of reports and ensuring compliance with CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) requirements.
