Job description
Butler Rose are partnering with our growing Manufacturing client based in Leighton Buzzard who are looking for a highly skilled Senior Buyer to support their Operations and Engineering teams. In this dynamic role, you will play a key part in maintaining efficient supply chains, negotiating supplier agreements, and ensuring the timely procurement of materials. This is a temporary opportunity for a three-month period with hybrid working and paying up to 275 a day.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to build and maintain robust supplier relationships.
- Negotiate cost-effective contracts and service-level agreements to support operational delivery.
- Oversee supplier qualification processes and maintain vendor performance standards.
- Manage purchase orders and supplier documentation to ensure on-time delivery.
- Monitor and update ERP systems for supply chain efficiency, including SAP data integrity.
- Resolve supplier-related issues including costs, quality, and payment discrepancies.
- Assist with forecasting and safety stock levels to meet operational demands.
- Support sustainability initiatives in alignment with organisational objectives.
What Were Looking For:
Essential:
- Proven experience in a similar purchasing role within manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of ERP/MRPII systems (SAP essential).
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- A candidate who can come in and hit the ground running, proactive with the ability to problem solve.
Preferred:
- CIPS qualification (minimum level 3).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with international suppliers and supply chain operations.
