Senior Business Analyst - Shipping Technology Transformation | London | Contract | Hybrid

We're supporting a major global commodities and shipping organisation on a large-scale transformation programme that will modernise critical shipping operations across multiple international locations. The programme involves the implementation of a market-leading shipping platform, integration with trading and operational systems, and the delivery of enhanced reporting and data capabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Senior Business Analyst who enjoys operating at the intersection of business change, technology delivery, data and integrations.

The Opportunity

You will work closely with Operations, Chartering, Risk, Finance and Technology teams to drive requirements, process improvement and solution delivery across a complex global programme. The role combines traditional business analysis with significant exposure to systems integration, data transformation and enterprise-scale stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with business users and subject matter experts to gather and document requirements.

• Produce user stories, process maps, functional specifications and acceptance criteria.

• Facilitate workshops, interviews and requirement discovery sessions.

• Work closely with development teams, architects and third-party vendors.

• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams.

• Define and support system integration requirements, including API and data mapping activities.

• Coordinate and support UAT planning, execution and business sign-off.

• Help manage migration, go-live and post-implementation activities.

• Support reporting and data initiatives, ensuring business requirements are clearly understood and delivered.

• Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews and daily stand-ups.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years' Business Analysis experience delivering complex technology programmes.

• Strong experience working on system implementation, migration and/or integration projects.

• Proven ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories.

• Solid understanding of APIs, ETL processes, data mapping and systems integrations.

• Experience within shipping, maritime, logistics, commodities trading or energy trading environments.

• Exposure to shipping technology platforms such as IMOS, Veson or similar solutions.
