Summary: The Senior Business Analyst role involves working in a hybrid capacity, primarily on-site for three days a week, supporting a government client for an initial six-month period. The position requires strong experience in the full IT development and testing life cycle, particularly in complex program environments, and necessitates eligibility for SC clearance. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure secure and compliant solutions while leading impact assessments and supporting process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support a major government body within the requirements management capability.
- Work closely with stakeholders and technology, infrastructure, and operations teams.
- Lead and provide clear, validated impact assessments for effective delivery.
- Support process improvements and operational readiness.
- Produce structured impact assessments for proposed changes, identifying risks and dependencies.
- Engage with stakeholders, including external clients, to support complex change initiatives.
Key Skills:
- Proven experience across the full software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Strong understanding of technical development processes.
- Solid working knowledge of SQL for data interrogation and technical analysis.
- Experience delivering complex IT programmes, ideally in large scale or government environments.
- Strong understanding of technical testing methodologies.
- Ability to adapt quickly to change in high-pressure environments.
- Experience in large complex governmental or regulated organisations.
- BCS/ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis or CBAP/CCBA.
- Previous development or testing experience.

Rate £578 p/Inside IR35
Must be eligible for SC clearance as working in a live secure government envinroment.

I am looking for a Business Analyst with strong experience across the full IT development and testing life cycle, particularly within large and complex programme environments to support a major government body within the requirements management capability.
You will work closely with stakeholders and technology, infrastructure and operations teams to support secure and compliant solutions.
You will lead and provide clear, validated impact assessments to enable effective delivery. This role will also support process improvements and operational readiness, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
Key requirements:
Proven experience working across the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including requirements definition, development support, system testing, UAT and implementation
Strong understanding of technical development processes and close collaboration with development and testing teams
Solid working knowledge of SQL, with the ability to interrogate data and support technical analysis where required
Experience of delivering complex IT programmes, ideally within large scale or government environments
Strong understanding of technical testing methodologies, including system integration testing, UAT, regression testing and defect management
Experience supporting development and testing workstreams and understanding interdependencies across technical teams
Ability to produce structured impact assessments for proposed changes, identifying risks, dependencies and downstream impacts.
Proven ability to adapt quickly to change and operate effectively within evolving and high pressure environments.
Experience working within large complex governmental or regulated organisations is highly desirable.
Strong stakeholder engagement, including external clients.
Ability to support complex change and discovery initiatives.
Essential
BCS/ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis or CBAP/CCBA.
Previous Development or testing experience.
Desirable Prince2 Practitioner certification.
ITIL Foundation Certificate.
